RAMAN AND PARUL - ROKNA CEREMONY FARIDABAD

Abha's younger sister Shobha and her great Physician Doctor Husband, Surender were the happiest people in the world as their son, our nephew, Raman was booked at a Rokna ceremony for a marriage to Parul from Faridabad. All details will be added by and by - but here are the first Photos of the ceremonies I am uploading for every one to see. I, Abha, Shobha, Surender and Raman and Parul will be recognised easily - shall try to name everyone by and by with help from Raman. Have a great tour of Indian culture.

I had to look up a Rokna ceremony....
so is this a correct understanding?

"where the boy and girl give their commitment to get married"

Congratulations
to all on this wonderful occasion.

Right on! That is absolutely right - and this is then followed by a series of other ceremonies - since both of them have got admissions in the same Medical College and will both do their "MD" in Medicine together, they have decided to get married after another year - so if you follow this particular blog - you will see the Engagement, the Haldi Haath (pasting the groom with turmeric powder paste, the Ladies Sangeet (All the ladies singing songs while the bride is made up for the wedding, the Garland ceremony (where they place garlands on each other) and finally the wedding ceremony in traditional Indian manner with a Pandit performing the rites, and then the Vidai the next day (Sending the bride on the way to her new home and life)
I hope to be able to do a good job of all the ceremonies and you all can really join in and feel the occasion.
As for my own kids - Sammy and Serena - the good Lord alone knows when they will decide to get married - see if you all can propel them towards holy matrimony ha ha ha.

Beautiful pictures and what a wonderful ceremony and tradition you speak of Deepak. I wish them both success in their studies and blessings in their Forthcoming engagement.
As for Serena and Sammy, now then Papa, let them go in their own pace – smiles.
My love to you and your wonderful family my dear friend.
