Does the world need a universal language?

Link
I think that this is a really interesting topic - the link above leads you to the Buddhist Travellers Group of which I am an uneducated member amongst the many philosophers and sages there .. but I have commented there too - and my comments need replies too - hope you all reply too

I don't 'do' Buddhist Travelers, my friend.
But do you know anything about sanskrit being the language which Nasa says it most mathmatically precise?

I was wondering.

I don't have time for BT, but thanks for the link, Deepak. I took the time to read the thread, but I don't think a common language would have any positive effect on human beings getting along, and considering how tightly each culture is bound up in language, it might adversely impact cultural diversity which is what makes the world such an interesting place despite our living on such a small planet.

Enjoyed the read! Can't wait to see those Schwartzenegger biceps someday! Thanks for the chuckle....:-)

Thanks Rose - that is really an interesting and significant article - I'll share it with my friends and family too and yes - though I find Sanskrit rather difficult to write and speak - it has too many rules for a simple fellow like me to remember, Abha's mother was a "Shastri" in Sanskrit (Equivalent to a Post Graduation) and could speak Sanskrit fluently - and Abha knows a lot about Sanskrit and can recite and explain great Shloka's fluently.
You will be very moved and motivated by the wisdom of the ancient sages in India. Ans as for philosophy' just go out to the bookstore and buy any book about "Vivekananda" or 'Krishnamurthy' - they spoke in English as well as Sanskrit and were renowned the world over - once Vivekananda addressed a world philosophers meeting in the US and spoke non stop on the numeral 'Zero' for the entire day.
And not to forget the great Mathematician Ramanujan - his treatise in mathematics still hold the day - though sadly he died very young. And they all knew Sanskrit which I had a hell of a time passing in Middle school where it was a compulsory subject those days ha ha
Love to you and yours
Deepak

Is Krishnamurthy, Krishamurti, Jidda?

Do you have a good link for Vivekanada?

It appears by my studies that sanskrit would be the oldest language and history.

I shall be most interested in Abha's thoughts on the article.

Shall ask Abha to write a proper answer to your question, Beautiful Rose - and why do I think that you represent a "Red Red" Rose always? Do you have rosebud lips or a flush or rose on your cheeks? I wonder - you know!
But shall come and see for myself when we come in 2013 June or July - so hold your horses .. and keep that Rose colour Red !
Good night and I to bed shall go now

Well, my middle name 'is' Rose and the only name I have ever used on my artwork, from a small child on.

I feel something eternal to the rise of the rose and I 'rose' above it.

It would be a wonderful treat to hear something by Abha....

but you did not answer my question.
